Surplus Supplies: Many people stock up on deodorant, shampoo and other supplies when they do a large shopping. These items clog up the usable space in the bathroom and make it very difficult to keep the bathroom storage space organized. One important way to create better bathroom organization is to remove these items from the bathroom altogether, or at least to contain them. Purchase a large storage container and label it clearly to say "bathroom surplus" or another similar title. Then, place all of your extras in this container, and keep it with your other storage items. If you don't have storage space, then keep it in the bathroom, but place it directly under the sink and make sure that all surplus supplies continue to be placed together, in this designated container.
For things that you regularly use in the bathroom, provide a dish or a basket to hold them. As much as possible, make sure your sink, the back of the toilet, and the rim of your bathtub are clear of any clutter. If you have kids who bring toys to the bathroom, limit the toys to just 2 or 3 soft rubber toys and always put them away after their bath.
Toilets with high level cisterns and pull chains are very rare these days, but a must have for the country bathroom, as are traditional taps for the bath and basin. Just about any kind of free-standing bath will suit the country bathroom. If wishing to have a shower a tiled walk-in shower is the advisable option with a curtain to conceal the area.
